Duramax 2.8L EGR Delete Plates
Anodised Alloy | RG Colorado, Colorado 7 & Trailblazer
The 2.8L Duramax has a well earned reputation for sooting up its intake. Exhaust gas gets fed back in, mixes with oil vapour, and over time the manifold packs up with carbon. These HPD Special Parts delete plates block the EGR path entirely, so the intake stays clean and boost control stays consistent.
Why Delete It
- Stops carbon build up in the intake manifold and ports
- Removes a known restriction, which matters more once you are towing or tuned
- CNC machined anodised alloy, corrosion resistant and built to stay put
- Direct fit to the factory EGR flanges with the supplied hardware
Fitment
- Holden Colorado RG, 2.8L LWH Duramax, 2012 to 2013
- Holden Colorado RG, 2.8L LWN Duramax, 2013 to 2020
- Holden Colorado 7, 2.8L LWH Duramax, 2012 to 2013
- Holden Colorado 7, 2.8L LWN Duramax, 2013 to 2016
- Holden Trailblazer, 2.8L LWN Duramax, 2016 to 2020
Check your EGR flanges before ordering. Flange shapes changed across the LWH and LWN production runs. Send us a photo if you are not certain and we will confirm before you buy.
Read This Before You Order
The plates are the easy part. The ECU is the part that catches people out.
- ECU remap required. Without disabling the EGR strategy the ECU will throw codes and can drop into limp mode.
- Clean the sealing faces properly before fitting, or you will chase a leak later.
- Professional installation recommended unless you are confident pulling the EGR hardware yourself.
Talk to a diesel tuner who knows the 2.8 Duramax before you book the job in. Fitting the plates and hoping is how you end up back on the hoist.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will these fit my Trailblazer?
A: Yes, 2016 to 2020 Trailblazer with the 2.8L LWN Duramax is covered. Check the flange shape against your engine before ordering.
Q: Do I definitely need a tune?
A: Yes. The ECU expects the EGR to be working. Disable it properly or you will be looking at fault codes and limp mode.
Q: Will this make more power?
A: Not on its own. What it does is stop the intake choking itself with soot, which keeps the power you already have where it should be. Any real gain comes from the tune.
Q: What are the plates made from?
A: CNC machined anodised alloy, chosen for heat and corrosion resistance in that part of the engine bay.
Q: Is it road legal?
A: No. This is recommended for off-road and motorsport use. Emissions hardware is being removed, so check your local compliance requirements before you commit.
